Cracks in fresh mud / texture.

We just sprayed bare walls with texture and it’s cracking.
The texture was just mud watered down and sprayed with a hopper gun.
Used all purpose light weight mud watered to a pancake like batter consistency.
We’re getting hair line thin cracks in the thicker spots.
What should we do? Sand away and start over? How do we do this correctly lol? Different mud precise water ratio?
Any advice would be incredibly appreciated.
