So I just finished Battlegrounds, and a couple lines in the book call out for investigation.
On page 13, harry says regarding soulgazes " If you see something bad enough, such as the nā " and changes it to just "something bad enough". What was he originally going to say? I thought for a moment it would be Nicodemous but the N isn't capitalized, so it's not a proper noun.....so it's likely a species.
When Butters is standing between Ethniu and Dresden, she refers to the angel in his sword as "traitor" , meaning she feels she and the angels were once on the same side and THEY changed allegiance. So are titans and angels supposed to be akin to one another? I know Vaderrung and Uriel are "in the same business", so were gods/titans and angels once the same thing, and the latter willingly gave up free will or were called back from earthly service?
Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but Dracula (son of Drakul) is said to have become Black Court to annoy his father. I originally thought this meant they were both Red Court and the son changed allegiance. Yet in Battlegrounds, Drakul is the head of the Black Court and likely the original. I'm wondering if it's something else. Drakul implies in a conversation with Dresden that he is Starborn as well. He also shows no signs of decay the other Vampires do, implying his transformation was more complete. What if as Starborn, he created the spell/ritual to make Black Court vampires in the first place, after siring a son as a human, and wanted Dracula to surpass him, growing on his work and improving the enchantment even more?
Finally, was anyone else angry at Odin for taking Murphy? She's Catholic, has made no indication she wanted to go to Valhalla, and (considering Gard's situation), there is every chance she'll end up serving or helping someone she completely despises like Marcone, with little to no say in the matter. She won't even be able to see her father again. The more I thought about it, the more I felt Odin stepped out of line.
