I wrote a post about the benefits of fostering such as finding out how the dog you pick out fits into your lifestyle/household without a permanent commitment, that you typically get first dibs on it if you love it, that rescues provide food and medical expense support, that if you adopt a dog from a shelter and bring it back because it doesn’t work out that the dogs history will list owner surrender which makes it less appealing to other adopters, that you’re able to learn about its personality, likes, dislikes and even if it doesn’t end up being your forever pet, you can pass that information down the line and it will give the pet more of a chance to find its perfect forever home, that you don’t have to be from a rich county (I’m not and drove all over my county visiting shelters last week) to find purebreds and even purebred puppies up for adoption at shelters for between $50- 175 for dogs. that you don’t have to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to a breeder if you have your eye set on a breed if you’re patient and are willing to look outside your area.
The list goes on and on.
I guess I don’t get it.
