My dog is not particularly food-motivated, which itself is not much of a problem. However, she's so unmotivated to eat that she will sometimes reach the point where she is vomiting yellow bile as a result of having an empty stomach for too long - despite the fact that she has a full bowl of food waiting for her 20 feet away! This just happened again at 1:30 AM last night, and the only way I could get her to eat to hopefully prevent it from happening again was to lock her in her crate with her bowl of food until she got the hint and ate, at which point I let her back out (and she was fine).
Does anyone have any tips to make her more motivated to eat her food? I've tried tossing a small handful of treats into the bowl with her food, but she usually just ends up picking those out of the bowl and ignoring the rest.
