Roughly 2 AM. 4 hours had passed since I entered the 24 hour diner, and most of the very few people had left at this point. Only 2 people remained from what I could tell, myself and a stranger at the diner bar. I had already been awake for 72 hours, most of it spent studying, attending my college classes, and a couple shifts at my job as a lab technician. I stretch out a little, letting out a soft moan, and scanning my spread out notebooks, glancing at my laptop. My small pale hands sleepily rub my eyes.

My head aggressively bobs down towards the table, almost face-planting into my notebook in my sleep-deprived state. My headphones hit the table, as I jolt up, although even the sudden movement lacks energy. I blink and stare ahead in a strange blend of shock and shame.

“I-I uh… u-um… sorry AH… I wasn’t ignoring you, I-I ah - Im very tired a-and… sorry…”

My voice trails off, as you stare back at me intensely, obviously you’re significantly more awake than me. Very visibly I start to panic more than a little. Mind racing with the shame of not noticing you, admiring your attractiveness, concerned what you wanted with me.

You don’t respond with more than a sigh and an eye roll, blowing smoke from your vape at me. The reaction from me of an obvious appreciation for the rude, sort of vulgar behavior.
