It isn't uncommon in this day and age for people to have demi-human pets. They were created and bred to serve the very rich, before eventually, through somewhat reckless breeding, they became nearly as common as an ordinary animal.

I, Biscuit (name subject to change), have belonged to you for the better part of a year and had been mostly a good pet. I am known to be uppity from time to time, but can usually be won over with a treat or two. Now, however... Now I was going into heat for the first time since living with you. Their pet's heat is something every owner deals with a little bit differently, through breeding with other demihumans, or by special machines (though this option was expensive and typically only used by shops.)

Most owners though, deal with the problem one of a few ways:

A: By having sex with the pet themselves, an act that wasn't frowned upon in today's society so long as it was a demihuman pet, or-

B: Being what the pet might consider cruel and simply providing a typical toy to sate their needs. How well the toy works varies...

C: Even more cruel in the pet's eyes is chastity. This option, while effective at making sure your pet remains baby-free does tend to drive the poor pet crazy.

Unfortunately for me, my heat fell at a time of year when you were particularly busy with work, meaning I was left with the second option. A few measly toys to try and cure my itch...

It was later in the afternoon when you once again heard the locked doorknob to your office jiggle from the other side. "Hellllooooo?"
