Caroline Montgomery rushed to her classroom, she was late again, but for a good reason. The main subject of her investigations has struck again. The special agent is an expert when it comes to serial killers, more precisely killers connected to organized crime groups. This one, however, wasn't just connected to one group but worked for all of them - or none. At least, that's what her research showed. None of the syndicates were targeted specifically. Instead, all of them suffered heavy losses over the past three years. Each crime scene looked the same: every single person had a slashed throat. A precise cut from one side of their throats to the other. No bullets, no defensive wounds, no nothing. Instead of a messy murder, it looked like the victims were clinically executed one by one.
Caroline finally reached her classroom. Besides her job as an investigator, she gives a class on serial killers for the new recruits at the academy of the International Crime Unit (ICU), an institution that has jurisdiction no matter the country.
"Sorry class, there was an incident last night that needed my attention," she began to address the twenty students in her room. Her raven-black pixie cut and equally black pant suit contrasts with her pale skin and white blouse. The slim pant suit accentuating her athletic body. On mornings like these she was happy that her hair is such low maintenance.
"Is it about the ghost?" One of her students asks and the lack of answer from her was enough for him. "What happened?" He continued. Every student was now on the edge of their seats. With 103 confirmed kills, the ghost, as the ICU calls the mysterious killer, has risen to fame faster than anyone before. Although, the real number would be well above that one. 237. 237, is the number that Caroline has calculated, tonight's incident included.
Caroline began to explain, as she has done countless times before, a sea of blood, slashed throats, and no physical evidence other than the bodies of the victims. The investigator was conflicted about all of this. Over the past three years she couldn't help but admire the work of the ghost. The execution of the kills was marvelous and the ghost's targets weren't exactly society's best people. The only thing that she could deduce over the years was the approximate height of the ghost. However, even that didn't feel like a victory. It felt more like a setup. One single cut was different and it's angle helped the team of investigators. Why would the ghost make such a mistake?
The deduced height is 180-185cm (5'9 - 6'1 feet). From that Caroline assumed it must be a male assassin. Or at least, most likely one.
A knock on the door interrupts Caroline's depiction of tonight's events. A tall woman dressed in the ICU's combat uniform walks in. Caroline doesn't recognize her but since she isn't responsible for combat training, she doesn't give it a second thought. The recruit's long blonde hair is tied up into a high ponytail. Phelps is written on the name plate on her chest.
"Special agent Montgomery, I have a message for you," the woman salutes and hands Caroline a letter. "For your eyes only," she adds. "Thank you, recruit Phelps," Caroline answers and the recruit turns around to leave the room again.
Caroline opened the letter, which read:
"XXCCCVIII or XXCCCVIX - what will it be, special agent? Grüße aus den Geisterlanden"
Caroline froze. The roman numbers for 238 and 239. Geisterlanden? Caroline knew that Geist is the German word for Ghost. "Do you know her?" She yells at her class while sprinting towards the classroom door, which opens with a loud bang as it smashes against the wall. After five minutes of running through the ICU's building, Caroline gave up. She wouldn't find that woman, not like this. She rushed towards the security room just to find the staff unconscious and the entire security system shut down. The rest of her day was spent with going over every clue from last night's incident. 238 or 239, these numbers, were they a foreshadowing? Were they a correction of Caroline's estimation? But how would the ghost know? The number only existed in Caroline's head.
One month went by before the ghost struck again. Ten victims. 247 in total. For the first time ever, a letter was left at the crime scene. A familiar letter. A letter with the exact same content as the last time.
"XXCCCVIII or XXCCCVIX - what will it be, special agent? Grüße aus den Geisterlanden"
Over the next few months, Caroline spent every minute going over every case she connected with the ghost. Her number would never change: 247. She would always arrive at 247. The letter can't be any type of foreshadowing. It can't!
More time went by as Caroline tried to deduce any information from this one letter. Maybe it was a reference to a book? A German one? Maybe it's some type of equation? However, no matter how she twisted or turned it, nothing made sense.
Then, about eight months after she received the handwritten letter for the first time, something went wrong, very wrong. One of Caroline's team members, an undercover agent, was working for one of the major crime syndicates. The ICU's goal was to stop their drug operation and capture the current head of the syndicate. What Caroline didn't know was that her trusted team members had been turned by the syndicate.
After a "successful" raid, Caroline went into the syndicate's warehouse to arrest the syndicate members. However, what she would find were 30 machine guns pointed at her direction. Her last memories before she passed out were more like a strange dream than reality. Before the machine guns were fired everything went pitch black, as if something sucked the light of the warehouse or more precisely her eyes. A deafening screech disoriented the special agent before she received a massive hit to the side of her head.
The next thing she would see or rather feel is waking up in a large comfortable bed. The TV in front of the bed is turned on. A breaking news banner slides into the screen.
"30 dead in syndicate's drug warehouse," it reads.
Caroline frantically turns around to get a feeling of where she is exactly. The bedroom she's in is bright. Large windows bring in the morning sun. She's still wearing her tactical gear and her weapon has been placed on the night stand. The bedroom door swings open and a tall, bald woman walks into the room with a towel around her body. She doesn't seem to notice that Caroline is awake and turns to her left to open a closet. The towel falls onto the floor revealing a muscular but heavily scared back. Those scars weren't normal ones. Those scars… those are whip marks, Caroline concludes. Next to the closet is a desk with wigs placed on mannequins' heads. One of these wigs has blonde hair and is tied into a high ponytail.
Caroline reaches for her gun and begins to yell: "Get down on your," when she looks in the direction of the tall woman again, she stops. The woman is already on her knees and her hands behind her head.
"Good morning, special agent. 239 is it. I wasn't sure if you'd regain consciousness last night or today. It's good to see you again. 239 days of waiting are finally over. I hope you slept well?" The woman asks. The bright light revealing not only her scars and back but overall muscular physique. Caroline found her. Caroline found the ghost.
Hello potential penpals,
first of all: thank you for reading this far!
After a long time of re-using my old prompts, I felt the need to write a new one. While it has some similarities with my older ones, I feel like it is has a more serious setting. As always, I have a few ideas of how both characters would look like and I'm happy to share these ideas with you when you decide to send me a message.
However, looks aren't everything and I would like to talk about the characters a bit more before just giving them a face. The ghost, a trained spy, killer, assassin or whatever you want to name it, has been through some ruthless times. On her 18th birthday the first confirmed kill of the ghost took place. By now she's almost 22 years-old and the number one on the ICU's Most Wanted list. If you want to find out more about her and how she got her scars, feel free to message me. ;-) A small disclaimer here: magical isn't just used for fun in the title. The ghost actually has supernatural powers.
As far as Caroline goes, I think of her as a woman in her late-thirties. An accomplished investigator and one of the ICU's best. The only case she couldn't solve until now is the person who's now kneeling in front of her. Caroline has always been a straight-forward woman and focused on her career. No kids and a number of failed relationships are her personal life. She lives for her job and not catching the ghost was starting to drive her a bit mad.
In my past roleplays it has become a common theme for me to use Instagram models, celebs, pornstars, etc. for my characters. From time to time I will use those to make it a bit easier for myself to describe characters - as well as give you something beautiful to look at!
Here are the links for my DPP profile and my Kinklist.
As a finishing note, I’m looking for a long-term roleplay and I’m in the CET time zone (Central European Time). I won't be able to respond that often or in rapid succession, at least not regularly. I try to manage a message per day but sometimes work gets in the way of that. I prefer longer messages with up to 2 to 5 paragraphs, depending on where we are in a scene. As far as roleplaying platforms go we can use Reddit messages or Discord. Recently, I found that Discord is a superior platform and if you're up for it I'm happy to use it.
As a side note: If you see another prompt on my profile which appeals to you, don't be shy to ask about it!
I'm an adult looking for another adult to play out this scenario.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
