Hello!

Welcome to our weekly open forum. This post is meant as a place for people to ask questions or get advice. Your question could be big, it could be small, it could be for the community, or for the mods. If you have something on your mind, let it out!

As a reminder, please keep all discussion here constructive and respectful.

If you have any questions or issues that you'd prefer to discuss with the moderators privately, feel free to drop a modmail instead.

Have a great day!

Fun Fact: DPP has an IRC Chat channel. It is a low key place to hang out and chat while you wait for your next orange envelope, it is not a pick up joint. Out Chat Channel is open 24 hours a day step in and take a look you never know what the topic of conversation might be.... could be bacon..... could be video games.... You can read more about it and how to get there here

Huh. That does seem a little suspect, given that plenty of people hint at having (presumably sexy) pictures in their post history within their prompts.

It's a weird gray area - I've asked about that before, and for their purposes, I believe, "NSFW links" would be basically anything that would still be recognized as sexual by someone who couldn't read.

That'd be it, then! On many browsers with RES, the pictures will automatically show, so those links are de facto NSFW links, hence not allowed.

Were the pics NSFW? That's a hard strike right there, and more than 4 links in a prompt also get it removed, as per the rules.

People are all, well, people!

On the other hand, I've gotten to meet so many interesting and unique people who are awesome on DPP that, on the whole, it's very positive indeed!

I've literally had someone tell me exactly that, and she was just rude all around when I politely said I didn't think we'd be compatible. Included were such lovely thoughts as, verbatim, "You mean as little here as you do IRL," and a cheery little "Fuck off." at the end of her message.

People do it a lot, and it's ridiculous and shitty. I just upvote prompts that are well-done, creative, or unique, regardless of tags, accompanied by the occasional limerick binge, and downvote those that are exceptionally low effort - really, there's no need to downvote; most sensible people browse by new when looking for partners anyway!

Absolutely not. Some attention is better than no attention, as far as the ol' self-esteem goes, but when you get one line like that, it's plain the person writing it doesn't actually give a shit about the effort you put into a prompt, or you as a person. It's not attention or respect, it's just someone lazy tossing a swipe out at you in the hopes that you'll do all the work to deliver their fantasy, and of course you'll just go along without a care for your own self-respect, because you're desperate to play with a real, live, alleged woman.

Nah, I just write to write, personally, and if people want to join in, that's awesome! I do enjoy pleasing a partner and turning them on, but I enjoy turning on and writing with people, not Faceless Internet Stranger No. 167 Who Wants A Literary Toy, y'know?

That's my opinion on that, from one guy to another.
