Hey DPP, it's Blane. Today I'm continuing something I tried a few weeks ago. Before we get started let me explain something. These are not ideas for me. This is a place to workshop an idea or to suggest some ideas you have and maybe you don't want to use for yourself. The goal is to increase participation in the theme days by giving people that spark of inspiration they need to get started.

Help! I Need Ideas For Theme Day!
If you don't already know, DPP has wonderful theme days on Wednesdays. The calendar is often in a sticky at the top of the hot page, but can be found in a link over there on the sidebar. ->
This week's theme is "Nautical". I'm not going to go super in depth (because my lunch break is only so long), but here are some basic ideas I can think of:
If you like historical pieces this is a great theme for you. We've been exploring the sea (both above and below) since the beginning of recorded history. Pick an era and have at it.
If you like tentacles, um, hello? This is a no brainer. Personally I'm hoping to see something from our own octo.
Shipwreck/stranded on an island themes would work. I've seen some interesting ones in the past.
Pirates is a good one. Lots of pirate fans lurking around these waters. Booty isn't always gold.
My personal favorite, and a more specific idea, is anything to do with the Titanic. This is a great one for those who love period pieces, as well as anyone who like exploring human emotion in their stories. In fact I will probably repost my Titanic prompt from ages ago. Just know that if you want to impress me I expect historical accuracy and detail!
Okay, it's your turn DPP. What are some ideas you have? What did I leave out?
