The War of The Two Kingdoms was over. I was unlucky enough to find myself on the losing side. Those warriors left alive were being hunted down by the enemy. There was only one place I could go. There was nothing left for me back home. No family, not even any friends. I needed a new beginning. Someplace where no one would recognize me. I remembered visiting distant relatives at this village as a child. It was off the main trade routes and had a small population.
I found the old family farm when I arrived yesterday. Abandoned. The fields overgrown, the small cottage in need of repair. Perfect. Here I can start a new life, clear some of the fields, plant crops, fix up the house for myself. Here I will be left alone, no one will find me. I need an escape from war. From the things I've seen and done. The things I still see when I close my eyes. I need...
You. I saw you as soon as I pushed through the door of the tavern. I had come for a real meal, something I hadn't had in ages. But when I saw you... there was something about you. Something special. Something safe. But there was something else in your eyes. You didn't belong here. You were hiding from something, just like me. I'm sure no one else could see it, but I recognized myself in you.
Without realizing it I had crossed to room to your table. I wasn't sure how long I'd stood there lost in your eyes but I'm sure it was uncomfortably long. "Forgive me," I said, glancing at the empty seat across from you. "May I?"
So DPP, who are you? Who are you running from? I'm open to many iinterpretations, from a magic wielding princess in hiding to an enemy bounty hunter who has been tracking me for days. I'm seeing this as a more romantic/vanilla roleplay, but I'm not set on that. Biggest kink on this one is the ability to tell a story!
