Hi All!

This is an expansion on a previous scene I’ve touched on before. Themes of pheromones, breeding instincts, ovulation, and personal scent is really on my mind lately. Why do you think you get so attached to your partners sweatshirt he spent all day wearing? Or the fact that the best sex happens when you’re sweaty coming home from the gym after a hard workout? 18 only.

It’s a beautiful late spring season in the Pacific Northwest, and we’re on our first backpacking trip of the summer. We had all been planning the trip for weeks while we finished up our final exams. Im Jack (26) joined by my roommate Thomas (23), sister Hannah (24) and her friend June (22).

We’re in high spirits, rocking out to oldies on the car ride to the trailhead while the sun glistens in the late afternoon. The view is magical, with beams of sun rippling on the surface of mountain lakes. We really want to hustle, since the hot spring we want to hike to is about 5 miles into the forest and it’s already late afternoon. It’s still spring, with days on the shorter side. Thomas is 5’8 and muscular, while I’m a few inches taller than he and wirey.

The trip was Thomas’ idea, he’s more the mountaineering type while the rest of us only do the occasional day hike. I also happen to know he has a thing for my sister Hannah. It gives me mixed emotions, but I push the idea from my mind and I focus on navigating the twists and turns in the road.

We’re all wearing hiking boots already. Thomas and I rocking shorts and tank tops while the girls are wearing athletic shorts and T shirts. June is singing along with the radio, right up until I turn the ignition off. We gather our gear and slam the trunk, excited and eager to hit the trail and spend the weekend together. We’re free from exams and school, and ready to focus on what young adults do best - have fun!
