I live in a touristy town. The approaching summer is going to be a big one for us. Things are mostly back to normal, and there are already dozens of weddings planned for the fancy hotel I work it.

Most parties opt to do an open bar, which costs quite a bit, but guests really love. I make a lot of money in tips on those. People feel obligated to tip more when they don't pay for their drinks. In three or four hours, I can make upwards of $600. On the bigger parties I can pull down $1,000 or more.

There's a huge wedding party coming this weekend. They have nearly six hours set aside for the reception. Supposedly there's going to be nearly 500 people. I have no idea who has that many people willing to come to a wedding, but it's going to be crazy.

The big day arrives and as I getting the bar ready, I decide to go and peak in on the ceremony and my god, that's a lot of people. Nearly all of them are staying in the hotel for a few days as well. The restaurants are booked solid.

After about two hours, the doors open and people start pouring into the reception room. Several dozen making a beeline to the bar. I start pouring drinks and making idle chitchat.
