Ah, island life, away from the rest of the godsforsaken world and nestled into its own little corner, with its own culture, language, and people. It’s all so… fascinating, is it not? Well, that’s what one dragon thought. Around two hundred years ago, when she was but a hatchling, she decided to study humans who lived on these remote islands, untouched by most mankind, see, the world had flooded long before even she was born and as such naught but the peaks of mountains remained visible, the world was dotted with countless islands thanks to that, and while most had ship routes and other forms of transport connecting to them, plenty were still cut off, willingly, from the world at large.
These were the islands that the young silver dragon watched. At first she just watched from the air, a nasty blow to her right flank taught her to never do that again. Then she used magic to stay invisible, lurking on the ground in small hides so none could see her… but she was too far to get any proper information. So now she was trying something new. Dragons could shapeshift (we’re using DnD as a template) into a humanoid form, she had been able to for nearly fifty years now, and so she hatched a plan. She would dive deep, deep into the cascading ocean, and then transform. She would wash up on the shore of her next island, using magic to assure her safety, and study the humans as a mute amnesiac. (She won’t be either of those during the actual RP)
If only she knew how quickly things would get out of hand.
