I dont know what the bums at blizzard are doing with balance. Multiplicative resistances that are only half effective because armor contributes the other half? I understand that 2t3 and 4 armor contributes less. But can the crack addicts who made this multiplicative system at least make gems stack additively with the jewlery theyre socketed in?
An example is that a ring with flat 25% fire res is better that a ring with 16% fire res implicit and a 9% gem. This is crack addiction. Please let's not kill resists entirely and fix this blizzard, otherwise it will b\never be good to use gems for resists, only armor. It will be far more effective to just have a high res roll on some armor and the base from the rings. If that is the case socketing a 10% gem will be like 1% actual contribution which is then halved. If its additive then at least it will be a bit more useful.
