What does a woman mean when a profile says "i am a strong, independent woman"

For profiles that say "I am a strong, independent woman"... what does this mean?
Am I supposed to read that she's financial secure, looking for a partner who is not going to cramp her style, looking for distance?
I keep reading it like they are not interested in dating... which isn't true because they are on a dating website?
