I've got 2 kids. The first is nearly 8, and the youngest has just passed 2.
Youngest is a bit off due to the back molars coming through. Toothache is a massive bitch, as we all know, but there should come a point, even in the younger mind, where we say "I can't do a lot about this. Just got to ride it out".
No no no. In the last 48 hours I have spent tons of time bowing down to the guy that did my vasectomy, as there's no way in hell I'm dealing with this bullshit again.
Little one was up around 7, as usual, and by 8 we'd had the first meltdown as she couldn't reach her juice. It was on the coffee table, fair enough. Fast forward to 12pm, and we have the same issue. Pass it to her, she sips, then asks me to put it back. Fair enough. Next step, she kicks off because I had the audacity to put it down.
20 minutes later, which included a difficult poo and a costume chang, she kicked off again as she didn't have a blanket on her. Said blanket was covering her feet but, being the diva she is, that was too much effort to pull up over herself. Cue 20 minutes of hysterics. Chose to ignore her.
She has been an entirely different person than I've ever met today. An eye-opener, for sure
