Not looking forward to surgery

Post Body

Hello fellow dads. Long time reader, first post. Just don't really have anyone to vent to about this..

So I found out a week ago I have 3 hernias. Not very painful but doctor said I could have some serious issues if I don't have it fixed. I am thinking have surgery, be back to my regular routine in a week or 2. So I say let's do it. He then tells me I am going to be in alot of pain after surgery. Minimum of 2 weeks of not going to work. 8 to 10 weeks of no physical activity. I have 2 little kids. 3 and 7. And I am not gonna be able to do anything with them all summer long. It really sucks. I coach baseball, soccer and help a youth campthroughout the summer.

I guess I am looking to see if the doctor is right. No swimming or anything. I love my kids and they are very active.

Does any dad in the group have any experience in this. Am I really going to be MIA all summer long? Just want to try and prepare myself for a horrible summer if this is the case.
