How important is learning devsec to be a cloud security engineer?

Background I do infosec and iv been diving into devsec. Sheeeesh is it a lot. I haven’t felt this new to concepts since the beginning of my career. Learning cloud security and cloud tools was easy because they mostly mimic on prem tools, but CI/CD pipelines and shit is putting me through the ringer lol

I’m sure I can work hard and learn it all, but are companies splitting the cloud sec and dev sec teams? Like should I just focus on one and learn the basics of the other? These feel like two different careers.
