Hello, I've recently gotten into making custom lava lamps. I'm having trouble making attractive bases for them. I would like to be able to have a metal base (like on store-bought lamps) but I'm not sure how to make them. I don't know if there is a simple way to form aluminum that I'm not aware of.
Many of the bottles I buy to make lamps out of have unique shapes and dimensions (some are rectangular, various sized circles, etc.) One idea I had was to 3D print a base, but the one person I know with a printer can only use a material that softens around 60°C, while lamps can get to 100°
I also thought about making a ceramic base??? But I don't know anything about the medium at all.
Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated!
Edit: Also I'd be interested in a service to order custom designs online, but I'm not sure where to look. I'd need a place with no minimum order size (since each one I need will be different) and, you know, doesn't break the bank.
