I have just under an acre I'm renting and lots of room to grow food. Given that it's midsummer, I'm thinking I'll start prepping beds for next year.
I'm in Ohio and I have heavy clay soil; how in the world do I get a decent amount of manure and/or other compostable material to get the job done?
I know most farmers are more than willing to part with their manure, yet I have no truck or trailer. I've looked at sunn hemp but that seems to be only one part of the puzzle.
Leaves available in the fall aplenty of course, but I'd like to just do a bulk dump of material right on top of where my beds will be and let 'em go until spring.
What do?
