I picked up the comic collecting and reading habit in January of 2021, and was hooked quickly. 2022 only saw the habit [obsession] grow, and I decided after reading a few good titles to kick off the year, to start reviewing them.
What started as a sentence or two, turned into a paragraph or two eventually, and by June, I was reading faster than I was reviewing, and it became overwhelming, and I had to drop the reviews and stick to the number rating I was giving them. At times, I had 7 or 8 books I needed to review, but was needing to reskim them to write the reviews - it became a mess.
In the link below is my full list of titles read, with format, author, ratings, page counts and a few minor notes. The ratings are 1-100, with the rating encompassing Story/Writing, Artwork, and Enjoyability/Connection (Some books while not as "good" as others, I connected with thematically more which gets a point or two bump here and there). As I read and added to my list, ratings got tweaked up or down a point to slot books above or below depending on enjoyment relative to other books.

Some takeaways or quick notes:
- The 37546 Pages over 180 Titles averaged 208.6 Pages per title. Even though I entered the entire Hero Alliance "universe" (Original run, second run, all annuals/quarterly's, etc), removing it only changes this it 203.9 Pages per title.
- Of the 180 titles, 17 were Black Label titles or 9.4%. These had an average rating of 78.8 which was slightly pulled down by my very middling feelings/rankings on The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage. Removing this, the average rating of Black Label titles was 80.6. I think the alternative storyline and ways of thinking often lead to an interesting read, and for the most part, Black Label titles will be something unique and fairly enjoyable
- The three writers who appeared most (not including those who wrote as part of anthologies [Various])
- Stjepan Sejic 8 Titles - Averaging 84.4
- Brian Michael Bendis 7 Titles - Averaging 68.7 (Hurt by Checkmate)
- Tom King 6 Titles - Averaging 85.3
- 91.7% of the titles were published by DC, followed secondly by Image at 5.5%
The lowest ranked titles I've read:
- Batman Vs. Ra's Al Ghul 18
- Metal Men 23
- Hawk and Dove Annual #2 (1991) 43
- Checkmate 43
- The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage 50
- Cosmic Odyssey #1-4 52
- RWBY/Justice League 53
- Metamorpho: Two Worlds, One Destiny 55
- Gen 13 Interactive #1-3 56
- Aquaman/Green Arrow - Deep Target 57
And finally, the highest rating titles I've read of the 2022 Calendar year:
- The Other History of the DC Universe 98
- Mister Miracle Deluxe 96
- Far Sector 96
- Batman: The Imposter 94
- Harley Quinn Black White Red 91
- The Human Target Volume One 91
- Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow 90
- Teen Titans Vol. 3: Seek and Destroy 89
- Static: Season One 89
- Robin Vol. 2: I Am Robin 89
- Sunstone Volume 7 89
Hopefully this can point people to a few good reads they wouldn't normally, or perhaps avoid a few I really didn't like. It was a fun year buying and reading all of these, and I look forward to another year of burying myself in books and lore.
Remember - these are my rankings/rating and opinions. This doesn't mean you, or anyone else can't like things I didn't, or hate things I enjoyed. We all like different things, go read and make your own opinions!
