Holy crap was I humbled 😅. I finally built up the courage to go to the climbing gym that’s a 15 minute walk from my apartment. Climbing is always something i’ve wanted to be good at since it seems like such an amazing way to build strength and be active!! My partner and I just stuck to the easiest auto belay routes, but I still wasn’t able to make it all the way to the top. My first time trying to fall back with the auto belay, I lost my balance and fell into a kid behind me!!Amongst how humiliated I felt, I tried laughing it off and apologized profusely, but he did not look amused at all 🫣. I was so embarrassed and discouraged but we ended up staying another hour and a half and had a great time. Anyways, so happy to have found this sub full of inspiring she’s and they’s!! 🤗 If anyone has any tips for a very very beginner indoor climber i’m all ears!
My biggest tip is to embrace the failures :) One of the things I love the most about climbing is whether you're a beginner or the best climber in the world like Janja, everyone is trying to do the same thing which is work out how to get to the top of that rock without falling off 😂 You try, you fall, you work out the puzzle of how to make your body stay on, and that's exactly the same and has just as much value no matter your level :)
