I never want to have biological children and neither does my partner. My partner definitely does not children anytime soon and neither do I. We did say we are open to adopting but later in life. I've been thinking that me being open to adopting is just me trying to bargain with a culture that expects people to have and take children, like a middle ground because I have severe tokophobia. I'm starting to think my partner did the same thing because when ever his family talks about him having children he tries to change the subject and he just in general seems more excited about having pets to take care of in the future. I have not talked to him again about it yet, but I definitely am going to talk to him about it. I just wanted to think out loud and maybe some perspective for the CF community.
