I honestly don’t get why parents randomly post about their kids in unrelated discussions

Post Body

I’m in a Discord server for a writing site, and one of the members writes, “YOU GUYS! My kid is the coolest.” And promptly posts a picture of...their kid in a swing. Just? I don’t get it? What relation does your kid have to writing and how does that make your kid cool?

Maybe I’m just bitching about small things but it baffles me. Said member is actually a cool person, and does way cooler things that don’t involve a kid (she’s an amazing chef for starters), so I don’t understand why you would think your kid warrants such a reaction.
