Hello!
So the plumbing in my house failed and we had to move out for about a week with our two cats while it's repaired. The only place we could find is an RV trailer. Our Tuxedo, Hamilton, adjusted within a day. My cat, Winky, stayed in her cat carrier for about 7 hours the first day before finally coming out and immediately hiding under the couch.
This is now the 3rd day of her hiding down there. For a little back story she's a runt we found under a car. She had an upper respiratory infection, a completely forgone eye, and the other on its way. By the time my girlfriend got her to the doctor the vet said she had maybe a day to live if she hadn't been brought in. She had the one eye removed and has 30-70% (wide I know but she can see bugs but not furniture sometimes so...) The upper respiratory infection resulted in her not having a voice at all, just a little rasp that she has to forcibly get out sometimes. Needless to say she's a traumatized little kitty.
We know she's not coming out to eat or drink and it's gotten to the point where she reached down there to pull her out and Winks was too weak to fight back. We put a saucer of water under the couch but there's no telling if she will actually drink it. I'm gonna get a packet of tuna because it's her favorite food and my girlfriend, long time cat owner, told me to pick up syringes to force feed her water. I'm a little concerned it'll be a little too traumatizing on top of what's already happening so I suggested a baby bottle. Hammy, the other cat, is now showing signs of distress and we believe it's due to his buddy. Does anyone have any advice, recommendations, or help for me to make sure she gets enough water.
