Need advice what to do

Hello all, I have had my cast iron for roughly 4 years. Recently I have noticed this discolored area that is a different surface than the rest of the pan. I am not sure what this is or what cause this. I don't think it is rust I think some of the seasoning chipped away. I have tried re-seasoning the whole pan and just specifically that area multiple times. I am not sure what to do or how to fix it, any recommendations?
