This past summer when trying to figure out an issue with my car I stumbled across a forum post where a lady couldn't use her push button start because she stored her key on a hook in the garage and it kept draining the battery in it. I 100% thought this lady was nuts when reading that.
Flash forward to now. I've been living at a new place for around 3 months that has a driveway. I've replaced the battery in my fob twice since moving here. I just tested this and my key sits in the bedroom above the driveway close enough that I can remote start the car without moving the key.
I can't find the forum post where I saw this at now. Am I also crazy or is there a truth to this? I replaced the battery maybe once a year before. No where near this often. What do I do?? My house is so small even the far side is still close enough to reach the car.
It's a 2013 Chevy cruze if that helps
