Post Body

Hi I recently started at a decently large company - as in just our office has 300 employees. When I was hired I explained I wanted a place I could stay for awhile and one of the people interviewing me said they liked to promote within office and encouraged me to apply to other positions when they became available after I’d done the 6 months required before I can move up.

Anyway, I’ve been seeing what other departments are like and I’ve been very fortunate to make some connections in those. However, one in particular I’m interested in, the lead is not normally at our home office and was in for a few days and noticed I was new and chatted me up. He made a point to tell me he wanted to “pick my brain, “since I was new, about the onboarding process and everything. He was here for three days but we didn’t reconnect.

Is it inappropriate to send him an email saying it was nice meeting him and I’m open to chatting next time he’s in office? I’m afraid he was just being kind since I was new. Any advice? Should I email him and if I do what should I say? Or should I just let it go and just make a point to say hello next time?
