I am slated to graduate college in December of this year. My degree will be in Business Admin. I have been working full time in retail banking for the past 5 years. Once I graduate I would like to move into a new role. Specifically I'm looking to move away from a customer facing role. I would love something more analytical and operational in nature. Underwriting (commercial or mortgage) seems like a good option. However, moving into a processing role seems like it would be necessary for most Underwriting positions. Which seems like it would be to small of a pay bump. The availability of these roles is also a concern. Many of these departments are small and there are a lot of experienced candidates.
What are some options for non banking roles that may be good options for me to explore? I would prefer a role with good growth potential. I understand I won't make sales or lender money, but would like to be able to buy a house at some point.
Any advice would be appreciated!
