So, if we are going to fight the 10/22 magazine thing, someone will have to step up to be a test case.
Note that there are potential risks here: Among them, the risk that the court could impose a firearm prohibition as a result of a conviction for possession of a prohibited device. I'd talk with the potential test case subject in order to determine how to minimize the potential impact and reduce the likelihood of them facing any nasty consequences. However, court punishments are a potential risk here.
The ideal test case subject would be:
Sympathetic (No criminal involvement, upstanding member of society, well-spoken, etc).
Able to testify coherently at trial.
Owns a 10/22 magazine with a capacity greater than 10 rounds that predates 2007.
Willing and able to deal with the court process, including the aforementioned risks.
Resident of Alberta (ideally).
On an issue like this, fighting it is time sensitive. If the community leaves things be, eventually it becomes "the way it has always been".
If this might describe you or someone you know, please get in touch with me.
