Hey everyone,
I have currently the following build and it is starting to show its age. I want to start to upgrade it but my budget is limited. So I am wondering whether to start upgrading the CPU, motherboard and memory or only upgrade the GPU.
My current build is this: Intel i5 8400 Generic MSI motherboard Nvidia GTX 1060 6 gb version DDR4 16 GB 600W Corsair PSU
The ideal build that I will be going for is either a:
AMD Ryzen 9 7900x
AM5 motherboard
DDR5 32 gb memory
Or a
i7 13700k
Intel Motherboard
DDR5 32 gb memory
And a Nvidia RTX 4070 12 gb as the GPU.
Through my workplace I am able to get either of those CPUs, motherboard and memory combos for the same price. But I am not really sure which will be better. The goal is to be able to play games at 1440p.
Now the GPU is also around the same price as the CPU motherboard combos so I will either get the GPU now and wait around 6 months for the CPU or vice versa.
What would you recommend for me to do?
A) Get the AMD combo and upgrade the GPU later.
B) Get the Intel combo and upgrade the GPU later.
C) Get the Nvidia 4070 now and wait on the CPU
D) Something else?
