Hey folks!

The last 6 years (minus 2020, so 5 years total) I held holiday events in my home, inviting complete strangers to come celebrate with me around a meal.

As much as I would love to continue that tradition, the logistics of staying safe with Covid as well as the lack of space in my current apartment mean that I don’t think I can continue to host events for the foreseeable future.

However, I have decided that I want to reach out to the community on a more regular basis in the form of supporting underserved populations with hygiene supplies.

I have been looking into the possibility of supplying the 16 community pantries in The Greater Boston Area with menstrual products, body care products, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. as these are much needed for a low income person and EBT/SNAP does not cover these items. Food pantries also do not frequently give away these items.

So far, I have reached out to always/Tampax, who pretty quickly said they were unable to help. I also reached out to Kotex, who gave me a pretty lengthy application to fill out but it seems more geared to large organizations. Stayfree has not replied. I have not yet messaged CVS.

I wanted to put feelers out and see if the r/Boston community had any ideas of how I could raise funds for this as the fundraising I’m doing on Facebook is falling pretty flat. Or organizations/companies I could contact to partner with. I would be donating all of the time to do this and it would become a longterm project for me.
