I used to play a Chinese card game at a board game club about fifteen years ago, I can't remember what it's called. Would love to be able to read more about it. Perhaps there are other versions out there.
I think there had to be a minimum of seven players, everyone was given a random card which told them what role they would play and they weren't allowed to tell the other players their card.
Emperor/King (?)
Guard
Spy (?) (fewer in number)
Enemy (Opposition I don't recall what role it was, perhaps Assassin)
The aim of the game was to eliminate the opposing side (?), a deduction-type game. The Emperor and the guards were one side against the other but I can't remember quite how the spy won. Each round the players discussed and voted which player to eliminate/lynch. Games last about 15 - 20 mins, longer the more players typically.
Not sure what the maximum amount of players was, I think at times there were up to around fifteen of us.
