About to start heating and beating, got a couple of questions first
Post Body
I have everything setup to forge (waiting for the last bits of refractory cement to dry), but when I look at the metal I have to forge on it gave me some questions I'd like to know more about.
- I have some RR spikes my cousin gave to me. They are rusted, probably not HC or anything written on them. Plan on using them to practice with and make some more decorative things (maybe a knife just for show/fun). So would I be crazy to think that most anything that is really rusty doesn't have some kind of zinc/chrome coating and is therefore safe to forge with?
- I replaced the front struts on my car last year (springs and all)...can I use those springs to forge with or are they not worth it?
Thanks!
