So I remember from years ago about reading into the scientific theory of populations within all animal species. Where the idea is that every species has a specific number of individuals it can have in one group/community within a certain area before the group either splits into factions or individuals in the group fight one another. So for example let's say we're talking about cats. Maybe for cats the number is 8. So for every group of cats, if the group stays under 8 cats, it will survive as a group, there won't be any major fights or anything, no factions, but once it hits 8 cats or more in the group, cats will generally either have fights with one another in the group or diverge into smaller groups to maintain the number being below 8 cats. And this theory applies to all animals, each animal in the world has a number that can be figured out. So you can do it with dogs, lions, turtles, etc
Anyone know the name of this theory or any info on it??
