So this is a one part background and a two part question.
Background: Hit a thing, bent my fork slightly. Frame looks ok. Bought an upgrade fork as a consolation. (Similar rake, axle-to-crown, brake reach as the fork it replaces.) Fork/headtube is straight 1-1/8" threadless.
First question: What all new headset parts will I need? I know I need a starnut (new fork steerer tube is aluminum).
The headtube races are still in-place and I've got the top bits (except the star nut) and the bottom bits, except the crown race is stuck on the fork pretty good. Is the crown race removable, or do I just need to replace it? Any other bits I am forgetting?
Second question: how do the bottom removable headset pieces go back together? Usually I remove things and keep them oriented in the same configuration, but I managed to drop the bottom pieces while relocating them from fork to shelf, losing my orientation.
Thanks, y'all.
