Post Body

Hi all,

This might be a long shot, but I'd love to see if reddit has any wisdom for me.

My family is moving to CA this fall (DH is starting a grad program at UCI). I am a teacher, and while I'm certainly open to finding a teaching job for the fall, I'm leaning more toward staying home with LO for a year AND being a nanny for another child around the same age.

My question is twofold: first, as a parent, how comfortable would you be with a childcare arrangement like this? Second, any recommendations on how to connect with parents who would be open to this type of care? I've been applying to postings on Care.com and Sittercity for a couple of months, but no luck yet (a few leads, it doesn't help that we haven't moved yet so I can't interview in person).

Thanks!
