Hi guys,

I am so super happy and wanted to share! My boy Fernando (Ferry) is with me for almost 1,5 years now. When I bought him at the pet store, he was so sad. I didn't even spot him in the first place, he was in one of the bottom tanks hiding behind the heater and looked horrible. I knew then he was coming home with me and I will spoil him as much as I can.

About a month ago I updated his tank. Added some more plants, a nice piece of wood the whole shebang. After that he became very bloated and sick, dropsy perhaps? I immediately began with medicine, added a sponge filter (soaked in old tankwater) for less flow and more oxygen, water changes everything. He recovered!

But he wasn't the same, still very lethargic and just looked sad 😥. I was devastated, I love this little guy so much. I tried everything but he still wouldn't move much, he kept on eating though so there was hope.
Then it hit me, perhaps he didn't like the sponge filter? He wouldn't come near it. So I put in his old filter, which has more flow mind you. And what the heck, my boy is active again, he swims around more, interacts with me and his shrimp friends again and found his old spot lying on top of the filter.

I'm so happy 😭.
