Do you just listen to beatbox without being able to beatbox? Do you play any drums? Do you beatbox and play the drum set? Do you listen to drums?
Post Body

I just thought I'd revisit where beatbox rooted from. I honestly don't know the history, whether it existed in ancient times or not, but this unique language of difficult pronunciations is somewhat of a niche art and a unique cultural circle (surely it's not mainstream... right?).

I sometimes listen to Japanese taiko and Korean traditional drumming, as well as some bongo (or just general Central/South American drums) and Baard Kolstad with his amazing drum set skills. I'm not quite exposed to African or Central/West Asian/Mediterranean drumming, but I wouldn't mind giving them a try. I especially like oddtime beats/rhythms.

So then, what outside of beatbox do you listen to? I'm curious--just in general.
