Just found this sub. The BBS days are a huge part of my past.

Post Body

Hello all! I was made aware of this sub from another thread elsewhere where we started talking about BBSing. So I thought I would drop by and say hi.

I did a lot of BBSing in the 90s, before the Age of the Internet destroyed it. I owned 1 BBS and co-owned another for a while.

My first BBS I ran on Wildcat. It was a single line BBS with a bunch of popular doors that grew eventually to 3 lines. But after running it for 2 years I had to move and my new apartment couldn't support the number of phone lines, so I ended up taking it down. It was in San Jose, CA and was called "The Spider's Den"

The second BBS I helped run was a MajorBBS system. It was 16 lines with Internet connectivity. It had been around a long time and changed owners once, but I got into helping the last owner and eventually bought into it financially before The Internet came to be. We had forwarders all over the bay area that brought callers into us. It was also in San Jose, CA and was called "The Inferno BBS."

Anyway, nice to see everyone hanging out here.
