looking at a new crankbait rod

Post Body

I'm looking at crankbait rods but I'm torn, I fish a lot of lakes that require both a lot of smaller square bills and stuff around shallow cover. Theae same lakes, also need you to throw bigger, heavy plugs like 6xd which need a longer heavier rod.

Currently I have: a 7 MD H for Texas rigs, and and kind of general purpose 7 6 med heavy for flipping jigs and heavy cover A 6 10 mes spinning setup for various finesse stuff.

Eventually I'd like to get multiple more rods, but the budget necessitates taking things one at a time.

Would you look at a longer heavier rod first or a shorter more controlled rod and hope for the best with the big baits?

(Also to note looking at probably a glass/hybrid rod in case that makes a difference i.e. one of the st Croix or loomis cranking series type rods)
