Does anyone here play Toppers?

Hi guys, Luca from Italy here. I'm an MLB fan with a soft spot in my heart for simple silly baseball games played with trading cards. I especially enjoy playing Toppers (see here https://www.wired.com/wp-content/uploads/blogs/geekdad/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Toppers.pdf).
I have two questions
- Do you know of any similar games? I mean simple games you can play with a deck of MLB trading cards. No 200-page manual to wade through first.
- What is the cheapest way to acquire a LOT of trading cards and ship them to Italy? I'm not a collector, I just need inexpensive cards to give to friends so they can play the Toppers game. Not looking for rare items etc.
I don't know much about collectors shops in US, do they have like a "everything in here $1 or less" bin by the door or something? :-)
