I love to hike and camp. All my hikes are day hikes, and most camps I’ve taken a car. I’ve backpacked with friends who had all the gear and knew what to do/expect.

I want to plan a short 3/4 day trip on the east coast of the US, where I hike and stay in either a tent or shelter along the way.

I’m curious of a good starter tent (the ones I have I think are two heavy for backpacking), and other items that are must haves for your trips.

Any knowledge, tips or tricks for a females first time solo backpacking trip would be greatly appreciated.
