Hey!
Seeking alittle help in this COVID travel environment.
My friend moved to Spain this Fall and I want to visit him during the March 2022 festival season. Given the state of increasing airline flights I'm looking to book sometime in December (hopefully after the 3 month period incase I need to transfer to BA).
Chase UR is currently doing a 30% 1:1 promo on Iberia Avios. It looks like the majority of available flights are through Iberia or BA
I recently booked a 2 week trip to Mexico and was forced to use Chase's travel portal to book as the only available flights without a ridiculous layover or stop was with American Airlines (got a $300 Dec 2021 flight for 19,500 UR points). Figured it was a good deal in current conditions for a flight less than 3 months away. Don't see it getting any better for international travel.
Would the same thought process work for Spain? Or would it be better to take a 1:1 and the 30% on Iberia Avios and risk getting the ticket end of December? I've read the award flights for Iberia are posted one year in advance.
I currently have around 60,000 chase UR piints left and want to use them wisely.
