Update: 6 hours on hold, 2 supervisor hang ups and 3 supervisors later, a firm “no” is the answer. Zero, zip, nada. Fine, but why the need to waste so much of my time for this?!? Changing the flight is not an option at this point. I just have to suck it up. And never ever will I book a flight with them again!

I used UR points to book a flight that is operated by United/Lufthansa. At the time of the booking I specifically spent $300 extra worth of points for a later flight time. I was just notified that the flight is cancelled and they are moving me onto the much earlier flight, that cost $300 less than the one I booked. I called Lufthansa. They wouldn’t help, said I had to talk to chase. After 2 hours on the phone with chase (most of that on hold for the supervisor), they refused to budge. No points refunding for the cost difference, no free bags, no drink vouchers, nothing. Best part is, the supervisor pretended he couldn’t hear me talking and hung up mid call. Why ask to verify my phone number for call back 4 times if you’re not even going to call me back?

How can I get this escalated and solved?
