So I work for a large SaaS company and I have a boss. Let’s call him Bob. Bob is a micromanager even though he tries to hide it. I’ll constantly get notifications where he has tagged me publicly in a work item, or even in a channel. He’s very reserved and closed off - so I’m unable to get to know him on a personal level. I’m remote but have met him in person one time. Recently I’ve disclosed to him that I’m Autistic and ADHD-C. He tries to work with me (mostly keeping me engaged) but I honestly cannot stand anymore micromanagement (his boss says I do my job very well). I know he wants me to be the best me - but as a fellow Autistic person, I find myself masking even more, getting anxious for meetings. One time he told me that I couldn’t skip an optional company dinner and I went to his boss and he told me I could skip it. What do I do?! PS: I have been taking some random time off as my fiancé is pregnant and I have been in the mental hospital for a week. I’ve only been here 5-10 months (range for privacy).
