Good powered speakers for use with tvs

Im by no means an audiphile and im looking for a good pair of POWERED speakers to use with my new snart tv im getting i want them to sound good with music/tv watching for reference i really like the audioengine a2 sound quality im using with my computer i live in a pretty small appartment so they dont need to be huge my budgets around 400$ and in the future if needed i will buy a sub to go with them any ideas?
