Is there two story modes in this new game?

I haven't really payed much attention since AC 3, and I saw that they had trailers for Unity and Rogue. I thought Unity is the main new one set in Paris? Do you play as two different characters? Also I have Black Flag but I haven't finished it, should I complete BF before playing Unity?
