I forgot to mention a two week vacation during a job interview. Already accepted the job; how do I mention it now?

Hi all,

This isn't particularly related to autism, but as I am autistic, I hope this community can provide a bit more nuance!

I was hired in mid December for a new job at a university. It is my first professional job after graduating from college, and is higher pay than expected, perfect hours, etc. All in all a great opportunity.

The thing is, I have a two week vacation planned in April. I was so nervous during the interview I forgot to mention it. When I called the office back to say I accept the job offer, no one answered, so I left a message saying I accepted the job, contingent on taking my vacation.

I never heard back from them, so I emailed them that I accepted the job, but did not mention my vacation. As it turns out, due to all the snow my part of the country has received, the office was closed. As a result, however, they did not hear about my vacation request.

Since it is a university, they are on winter break until after the 1st of the year. How do I mention my vacation after this, when I basically was offered the job nearly a month prior? Two weeks is a long time to take off, especially when spring break is the month prior. Am I screwed?
