Hello everyone. Non-Binary AMAB here,.
I have been slowly more and more open by gender expression in life and online. Relevant to this I received my first death threat. Contextually I am not worried about that specific threat, but all the same it is unsettling and I am worried that as time goes on this is going to be a more common thing and possibly more real.
My first inclination was to start conceal carrying. It is frighteningly easy in my state to do so, but I suppose that is something that can cut both ways. So far I have eased the urge to buy a gun, in part because the only range in town is cop-centered and not a terribly comfortable place to practice at.
Arriving at the point of this post, I wanted to gauge the community's feelings on being armed as a response to this kind of thing. Is this a knee jerk reaction or a rational response?
